Moonpeak Espresso, on the temple road is the first café in McLeodganj to serve Italian-style espresso. The first thing you’ll notice upon entering Moonpeak Espresso Cafe is the smell. Roasted coffee beans and steamed milk mingle to create a cozy aroma that makes you want to stay a while. They own a Cafe as well as a restaurant, both adjacent, offering a wide selection of food.

It’s a bright and airy café, with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the main street of McLeodganj. The décor is rustic, with exposed brick walls, wooden tables, and a clay oven where they bake their own bread. The name “Moonpeak” refers to the highest peak in the Himalayas, and the owners wanted to create a space that felt like you were in the mountains. The music is mostly reggae, which fits well with the relaxed atmosphere.

There is plenty of space to relax, refuel, do some wi-fi (it’s free), read a magazine or two, meet some new friends, and spend a few pleasant hours at the Moonpeak Espresso café and Moonpeak Thali restaurant. The walls are always adorned with interesting exhibitions to keep your eyes entertained. Whether you are looking to relax with a pot of locally grown herbal tea or drink a cappuccino, latte, or macchiato, they got you covered. Don’t miss out on their home-style Himachali dishes such as madhra, karhi, and mukundwadi, it’s a retreat to your taste buds. Besides its food, Moonpeak has long been a gathering place for travelers, writers, poets, and painters.

Opening hours of the café is between 7am-9pm, restaurant 11am-9pm; the restaurant kitchen is closed Monday.

The average Cost is ₹300 for two people (approx.)
